
William Murdy

Mr. Murdy is currently the Chairman and a Founder of the Thayer Leader Development Group & Thayer Hotel in West Point, NY, a leadership development program focusing on character, knowledge and application. Mr. Murdy also currently works with The CapStreet Group, LLC (as Executive Advisor) and Washington Capital Partners, LLC (Senior Advisor).
Mr. Murdy is the former Chairman and CEO of Comfort Systems USA, a publicly-held national consolidation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation and services companies. Prior to Comfort Systems USA, Mr. Murdy was President and CEO of Club Quarters, a chain of membership hotels, and Chairman, President, CEO and Co-Founder of LandCare USA, Inc., a commercial landscape and tree services company (sold to ServiceMaster in 1999). Mr. Murdy also held management positions in the investment sector, including as President and CEO of General Investment and Development, and as Managing General Partner of the Morgan Stanley Venture Capital Fund and President of its associated management company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Murdy served in a number of positions including that of Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Resources, a publicly-held company in the oil and gas sector.
Mr. Murdy’s experience also includes past service on the Board of Directors of UIL Holdings (now AVANGRID, Inc.), Kaiser Aluminum Corporation and NetVersant Solutions, LLC as well as on the Advisory Board of Chicago Growth Partners and Fletcher Spaght Ventures, L.P. Mr. Murdy is the Founder of Warrior Gateway and served as its Chairman.
Currently, Mr. Murdy serves on the Board of Directors of Eventra Incorporated, Simulus, LLC, DCO Management, LLC, The United Illuminating Company, Raedel Financial Solutions, Inc., Business Executives for National Security, Inc., Safe Renewables Corporation, Paramount Services, Inc., Compact Power, Inc., Environmental Design, LSB Industries, Inc. and Vectrus, Inc.
Mr. Murdy holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and, after earning a B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1974, including two tours of duty in Vietnam and three years teaching at West Point.
